Debloating Vivo Y81 is super easy |
My phone always showed a pop-up telling me there was no space left; this made sense because the internal storage of this phone is only 8 gigabytes, and there's no SD card.
I could have bought an external SD card, but that was not going to solve the problem in the long term, and I did not want to spend money.
I was wondering if I could delete some apps that I did not need, but it turned out I couldn't delete the bloatware without using debloating software on the computer. So, I did some research online to see if it's possible to debloat my Vivo Y81.
And I figured out how; you can also do it yourself in under 10 minutes; follow the steps below:
How I debloated my Vivo Y81
I first installed a dedicated USB driver for Vivo phones. You can easily find it on the internet. Download it and install it following the instructions you found on the internet. In this case, I found the drivers here https://gsmusbdriver.com/vivo-y81-1808. I didn't know which one I needed; I just downloaded them and installed them following the instructions. You install them by extracting them first.
After installing that, I downloaded an ADB for Windows from this website https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/#adbsetupwindows. You don't have to install anything from this file; you have to extract it and know where you store it.
Then I went to the Settings on the Vivo phone and found "About phone" settings so I could see the phone's model number, and then I clicked on it seven times to allow Developer Mode. When the "developer mode" was activated, I activated USB Debugging and then connected the phone to the computer using a suitable USB cable; I used a micro USB cable in this case.
The slightly tricky part. Open CMD as Administrator and then change the directory to where you store the adb file. If you keep it on your D disk, type "" cd.." and then "d:"
And then you're in the D directory, change the directory to the adb folder by typing cd then the folder name.
And now, connect your phone using a USB cable and when it's connected, change the settings on your phone to Files Transfer.
Now check if the phone is connected to adb
Type command on the cmd window "adb devices"
It's going to show you a list of if a device is connected; when it is, you can begin debloating.
Use "adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0" + app domain name.
example : adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.bbkmusic
Hit enter, and it'll say "success" if it's done uninstalling, you can check your phone and see if the music player is uninstalled. Find the complete list of apps to debloat here https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/#adbsetupwindows.
I hope you successfully debloat your Vivo Y81.
